October was the traditional time for Harvest Festivals as the days grew shorter and the sun began to disappear from the sky. Come to the library to learn about & celebrate the diversity of the Myths and Legends of many cultures; many colorful and delightful tales are on display! |

August: Marathon held in the Library to honor the Beijing Olympics As part of our library theme this month, SIS Middle School and High School students competed in a first ever SIS marathon... all run on a treadmill in the library! The competition was especially fierce between the 6th, 7th and 8th grades. 7th Grade won by a small margin! Congratulations to everyone who participated! |

September: Mid Autumn Festival We celebrated the Mid Autumn Festival aka Moon Festival in the Library in September. We learned about the legend of Chang-O and the Jade Rabbit and why Moon Cakes are eaten at this time. Chinese Lanterns swaying in the breeze in the Bayside Library! |
